Everyone hates rules including myself but in order to keep this site in order we unfortunately have to have them. If you break any of these rules you will be warned. I am being nice and I'm going to let you get up to 10 warnings before we kick you out. We all make mistakes and we all deserve second chances so thats why I'm giving 10. I don't usually warn people but if you get out of hand I'm really sorry but I'm going to have to remove you from the site.
1. Don't say any rude remarks to any member out of character. Lets try to keep all of the site's drama within the roleplaying. If you have a problem with someone on the site don't confront them. If they have done something rude to you report it to me or any of the other admins and we'll take care of it.
2. God-Modding is a big one. I hate people who god-mode. What is godmodding? Well it's when you control another character's actions. You can roleplay characters that don't exist on the site yet but try to keep it reasonable.
Bad Ex. Johnny punched Mary and she began to cry.
Definitely not you can't say she began to cry because that is completely up to the other person to [Evanesco] decide how their character reacts. Oh and another problem with that example is that Johnny didn't give Mary a chance to react.
Good Ex. Johnny threw a punch at Mary.
So now Mary has a chance to decide whether to dodge the punch or let it knock her out. Its all up to her.
3. NO Mary-Sue characters. These are really annoying. What is a Mary-Sue character well that is a completely perfect character. This means they are perfect in every single way without an error. They have no weaknesses and never has a problem.
4. Avatar and Siggy sizes. Please don't have a siggy that takes up most of the page. It's really annoying especially for those with slow computers because it takes forever to load. If your siggy is too big we'll give you a warning to remove it, resize it, or change it but if you don't do anything about it within a week we'll take it down ourselves.
4. Every character should have a celebrity or an actual person to to represent their appearance. It makes it a whole lot easier on everybody to know what your character looks like. Anime and cartoons don't count we want actual people.
5. NO ONE LINERS, please don't write just one line it gets very annoying and it makes it hard for anyone else to reply. Add a whole lot of description like how the weather is, what your character looks like, what your character is doing ,etc. The posting minimum is 5 sentences. If you run out of things to write then go to the Roleplaying Lessons board and we'll teach you how to role play better.
6. All roleplays MUST be posted in third person.
Bad Example: I walked into the room.
Proper Way: Caroline walked into the room.
7. There will be absolutely no drug abuse. That is a common muggle problem but that does not happen in the wizarding world.
8. Your character CANNOT have a special ability unless it has been pre-approved at the Special Ability thread. If your a canon character with an ability already then you don't need our permission just go on ahead and play your character.
9. Only death eaters can use the unforgivable curses. No students should be able to do it. Only death eaters are evil enough to use them.
10. No killing other characters without their permission.
11. If you are inactive for longer then a month without an absence excuse then your character will be killed off. If you are a canon character then your account will be given away.
12. Stay in character in the Roleplaying areas. This includes Hogwarts and Other Places. [Lumos] If you want to make an out of character comment please put it in () [] {} or anything along those lines.
13. Don't and I mean don't use internet talk in the roleplaying boards
example Wud u go wit me 2 da ball.
That gets very annoying and very hard to read.
14. Do not post applications without finishing them. It makes the applications board look cluttered and messy. If you do not finish, simply copy your post and save it in Word or another text editing program until you have enough time to finish your application.
15. Most Important Rule is HAVE FUN.
